As a predecessor of Beijing Zhengdong Electronic Power Group Co., Ltd., factory751 was a national large-scale power enterprise which was built with the help of Democratic German in the 1950s. According to the readjustment of Beijing energy policy, the gasworks under Zhengdong Group stopped operation in 2003. In 2006, with the support of government, Zhengdong Group decided to make use of its old workshops and well-preserved industrial equipment and facilities to construct D·park751，the Design Park in Beijing.
